This is Leicester's first municipal cemetery and was opened in 1849 and has been in continuous use ever since.

The site is still currently under construction. It does not yet have a Search facility for the database of names which are accompanied by photographs of graves, their inscriptions and transcriptions. However, as it is page indexed and surnames are in alphabetical order, in my opinion, it is still a very useful resource. Access to these are free and it is suggested that more records can be found on the CD available from from Leicestershire and Rutland Family History Society.
