Anyone with ancestors who worked at the Dockyard in Portsmouth might find the Portsmouth Royal Dockyard Historical Trust website of interest. I found a few ancestors listed in the Dockyard Employment Records, which are searchable by name. The list includes full name, date of birth, occupation and years of employment - all useful information, although there is a charge if you want to see the full record.
