Part of the Heritage Newfoundland site has excellent material and WWI resources
Newfoundland's Memorial University in St Johns was founded shortly after WWI “This university was raised by the people of Newfoundland as a Memorial to the fallen in the Great Wars 1914-1918 and 1939-1945, that in freedom of learning their cause and sacrifice might not be forgotten.” It has recently embarked on a project to remember and learn from WWI

Newfoundland did not join confederation until 1947 so during WWI soldiers from the province were part of the B.E.F. Fortunately the records of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment have been stored in Canada and many have been scanned as part of the Rooms site. The site is well worth a visit for its excellent format and particularly detailed description of the regiment's actions at the Battle of the Somme July 1, 1916.
