    A VictorianWeb Book

This book featured on the VictorianWeb deserves its own place in this Occupations collection. A wealth of information, photographs etc.

It was written in 1983 by Dick Sullivan whose father, born in Surrey in the early 1880s, was a navvy around 1903. Dick’s father’s words are written in italics. Dick's mother was born a navvy-woman at the Elan Valley dams in mid-Wales in 1900.
