Beware - part of the Hurworth sub-district was split off from Darlington and joined Auckland around 1912.
Documentation online says this happened in 1937, but it obviously happened earlier in some cases.
If a search of Darlington Register Office Online Registers does not provide a match then try Durham.

Hurworth sub-district covered many of the villages south of Darlington.
