    You shouldn't believe everything you read in the newspapers (for a start my Economy 7 meter doesn't rely on radio signals). In fact, thanks to smart meters there are more twin rate options than ever before - when I get my smart meter I plan to move onto EDF's GoElectric 98 tariff, which offers Economy 10 in the week, plus all day Saturday and Sunday.
