State libraries in Australia do, but none of the local libraries I've checked offer Ancestry or Findmypast.

Actually our local council has recently been amalgamated with two other councils ( a State government initiative) to form a "super council". This means that the libraries will be combined to one large entity and now plans are afoot to plan for the future. I have spoken to or local librarian and she is going to bring the subject up at the forthcoming staff development day. Who knows?

Most family history societies offer access to Ancestry, FindMyPast and The Genealogist in Australia and have pretty good research libraries too. Unfortunately my state society is on the verge of closing because of lack of support.

Findmypast have now taken payment for my annual world subscription at the lower price. They have treated me fairly and rewarded my loyalty, so I have no complaints.
