"The Ships List" is a very useful site well worth exploring. It has a wealth of information and passenger lists worldwide - http://www.theshipslist.com/ . The main coverage is for UK/Europe, Canada and USA, and it includes info on shipwrecks (with passenger lists in some cases), the ships themselves, BMDs at sea, etc., and some useful links to other sites. You can also search by name (see the top of the home page, but the results take you to Ancestry and although you might get basic info like name and port of arrival (which you can use to narrow down your search on the Ships List website), if you don't have a sub for Ancestry you unfortunately can't get at the full details.
