This is my first post. Uncle Bill (my mother's younger brother) had researched our CRISP(E) family of Marylebone, London from about the mid-1700s. The family moved to Bath, Somerset and were hatters, watchmakers and later surgeons. I was inspired to start researching (e.g. Taunton RO) my paternal surname of MARTIN in the late 1980s. I recall visiting an aunt and uncle in Bath during my lunch break and got back at 3pm fearing the sack. My boss and colleagues were merely pleased I was safe! I look forward to posting my brick walls concerning my maternal and paternal ancestors.

Welcome to the forum, Prussian. Good to hear you had a tolerant boss when you started researching your family history!
