My great grandfather died in India in 1888, aged 37, and is buried at the Wesleyan Chapel, Mysore. He was a miner, contracted by John Taylor and Sons to work in the Gold Fields of Mysore. I am keen to learn more about the cause and circumstances of his death - illness or accident?

Where and by whom would his death have been registered?
Is it possible to obtain a copy of the record?
How explicit is is likely to be?

Any advice or suggestion will be much appreciated.
