Hello, does anyone know anythig about these records. I have seen a document which shows an ancestor paid 7 shillings and later £1 18s on his property at Northgate Street, Bury St Edmunds. It referred to a contract date in May 1799 in both cases. He was the tenant, not proprietor. I am wondering about the significance of the contract date and the amount. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

    Merry Christmas to you too.
