    I added 22 relatives from the 1881 Census the other day - it was a branch of my tree that seemed impossible to follow when I looked at it a few years ago, but with new resources now available online it proved easy.

    I expect many of you have branches that would repay another look.

    • 698 New Entries have been added and
    • 67 Relatives have been matched.
    Always good to see New Members joining. All numbers down this week and the Forum has been unusually quiet also. However, for the people who have been adding some relatives, they've done well.
    The ratio of New Entries to relatives matched was 10.42, on average, every 11th person they added made a match with another member.

    Always good to see New Members joining. Only Relatives matched up this week but even though we have low numbers, the ratio of New Entries to Relatives Matched was 7.02!

    Could be the weather, but I've also closed quite a few accounts which were unused duplicates, and quite a few more for deceased members who hadn't entered any data. (The figure for new members is net of closures.)

    And the Ancestry DNA sale may have prompted some members to update their My Ancestors page - since that's the first step in the Masterclass.

    Unfortunately not everyone has someone to take over their research when the time comes..... however the matches they made in the past ensure that part of their work lives on, so the negative figure for relatives matched is actually a positive sign.
