FTAnalyzer is a small free program for analyzing your Family Tree. The latest software can be downloaded here.

The software is very easy to install, just click on the "here" and the software will download and self install.

FTAnalyzer is a program that imports your gedcom file (GEDCOM is an industry standard method of storing your Family Tree data) and then displays your data in a number of different reports.
    The reports include:
    • Individual Lists - showing all the individuals in your GEDCOM with their vital details
    • Family Lists - showing all the families in your GEDCOM with lists of who is in that family
    • Surnames - a list of how many surnames, how many individuals, families and marriages
    • Location Lists - verifies you have valid locations and double clicking on location text shows who is at that location. Clicking on the Show Map button attempts to locate the location on Google Maps.
    • Occupation Lists - showing all the occupations in your GEDCOM - double clicking on an occupation shows the lists of people with that occupation.
    • Facts - Select any type of fact for all or a single family
    • Sources - a list of every source
    • Data Errors List - shows various types of data errors in your GEDCOM such as events happening before someone was born or after they died
    • Duplicates - suggests where you may have people who have been added twice to your tree
    • Births/Deaths - Suggestions for people where you can improve the birth or death date to get better search results
    • Census Lists - Show who you have and haven't got census entries for
    • Lost Cousins - shows you everyone you have already found on a census so you can check if you have entered them at Lost Cousins. This report is now colour coded, easily directing you to which census you have still to find people on and whether you have entered those people to Lost Cousins. Clicking on a missing census entry searches for that person online.
    • Colour Reports - 5 Colour reports showing missing and added BMD's, and the missing or added Censuses.
    • Tree Tops - see who is at the top of each branch
    • World Wars - lists possible males alive and of likely fighting age during both world wars
    • Maps - See where your ancestors lived, who they lived near to, track their movements through time.
This utility has appeared in a Global Genealogy Newsletter!
