The Darlington Register Office has a search facility for birth, marriage and death certificates.

This is very useful for marriages as they give the spouse details.

The CommuniGate Website contains The Darlington West Cemetery Headstone Inscription Records.
The section explains how headstones and plots in the cemetery can be identified.
By scrolling down the page you can find the Darlington West Cemetery Plans and The Cemetery Database.

The Centre for Local Studies within Darlington Library holds local parish registers, cemetery records, local newspapers and various other resources. This often means that a trip to Durham Records Office is not required. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable too.

There is also a Resources page.
The centre is housed in Darlington Crown Street Library which gives more information and opening times.

This is the new website for information about the West Cemetery Headstone Inscription Records
The headstone database is currently being redeveloped but a temporary version may be accessed on the About Darlington web site.
