Cambridgeshire Civil Registration Indexes

    Online indexes to Cambridgeshire Civil Registrations, known as Camdex . have been compiled with the help of the Cambridge Family History Society. This site also facilitates online ordering of these local Certificates.

    As Genuki points out Cambridgeshire is one of the counties where you have to be extra careful when searching for civil registrations (and poor law records) as it is bordered by seven other counties. While doubtless you and your ancestors might think they lived in Cambridgeshire it could easily be two or three other counties!!

    .....and don't fall into this trap and think "how come they moved such a long way from Cambridgeshire to Hertfordshire" and then discover it's only about 30 miles!!
