1881 census with 'A' in the folio number

I apologise if this has been covered before. I've entered a household without entering the 'A' in the folio, as instructed. When I hit the grey check arrow FMP can't find the entry. But if I then manually alter the search including the A the page pops up. Looking at other transcriptions Ancestry includes the A and FamilySearch does not. I'm confused!

Alphabetic suffixes were only used when an error was made during the numbering of the folios. They are so rare that we disregard them - most people never see one.

If you want to confirm your entry against the census you can do this by manually adjusting the folio reference shown on the search form.

Thank you. I did manually check the entry.
