Gravestone Photographic Resource England

Details of entries on gravestones in various countries. Coverage naturally patchy, but worth checking out.
From the index page it looks as if coverage is best for Suffolk, Yorkshire and Norfolk (where I find it a great help) so possibly flag up in those counties' resources. If the gravestone indicates wife/child/etc these are listed, which gives a lot more helpful info than merely dates of birth and death

 

This is a fantastic resource but with a fatal flaw.. As the site owner says..

"The GPR is offered as a free service. In the last year I have sent out thousands of images and less that 50% of recipients have bothered to send either an acknowledgement or thank you. As a result, all requests are now veted on what is entered in the above field".

I have always politely requested help, acknowledged receipt of images, and also added information to the database. But for whatever reason, I seem to have been blacklisted and no longer receive the images I have requested.

It's disappointing.

 

The images are no longer e-mailed out but can be accessed on site via the view images option. Insert the e-mail address that you used to requested the image and a list of all the images requested will be returned. You can then select the name of the images that you want to view to see the images and download them.
